The tasks and possible applications in the industrial engineering degree program are very diverse. As interdisciplinary trained specialists for the combination of technology and economics, industrial engineers work in almost all technical and economic functional areas. Depending on the specialization, the focus in the basic studies is on teaching technical and commercial as well as methodological, linguistic, social and intercultural knowledge. The main course of study conveys the practical application of these fundamentals.

Requirements: The bachelor's degree in industrial engineering is considered challenging because it requires versatile knowledge and skills. Thus, you need a talent for mathematics and natural sciences as well as for economic topics and languages. For your bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, you should also have analytical thinking skills. To meet the requirements in your studies, you can take a pre-course in mathematics at most universities. This is especially useful for non-high school graduates.
We also recommend that you observe the requirements of the relevant dual university.
Developers and designers of vehicles are faced with increasingly demanding tasks. Innovation cycles are getting shorter and the complexity of systems is increasing. Only with a holistic systems approach can costs and development effort remain manageable. Systems engineering is becoming a competitive factor and integrates the technology shift from mechanics to electronics to information technology. This development has significantly expanded the job profile for engineers. In addition to interdisciplinary basic knowledge, sound knowledge of modern computer-aided development tools and additional qualifications from the fields of economics and management are required.
The course of study "Mechanical Engineering - Vehicle Systems Engineering" takes these requirements into account. From the beginning of the course, teaching content from the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science is offered in a cross-linked manner. Advanced lectures in the fields of automotive engineering, simulation techniques and mechatronics round out the technical courses offered. Graduates of the program already have fundamental experience with interdisciplinary tasks. They are therefore highly qualified to deal with current and future development tasks in the automotive and supplier industry.

Design engineers solve interesting and challenging tasks in the development of industrial products. They look for innovative design solutions for components and assemblies.
Design is an essential part of a process chain that ranges from market research to the feedback of experience from product application A lot of information is exchanged in this process chain. Therefore, product development is understood as an information management process. In order to be able to organize the targeted, cost-effective and rapid development of a competitive product, design engineers take on additional management tasks. In doing so, they work creatively in teams with specialists from other areas of the company.
